Job description
*Please note: This role is a 12 month fixed term contract. Due to this, we cannot sponsor visas or support with relocation costs. Please do not apply if you require these.*
The XCM (Cross-Category, Cross-Channel, Cross-Country Marketing) Europe team’s mission is to build the most measurably effective, creatively impactful, cross-channel campaigning capability possible. We do this in order to attract and engage customers, grow big-bet programmes, and strengthen positive brand perceptions. We create TV/AV, radio, digital, social, OOH and print, across an exciting mix of work, including our retail business, our brand proposition, Prime membership, devices and more.
This is an exciting and varied role, operating as a single-threaded leader for EU marketing operations. This candidate will report into the Head of Marketing Operations within EU XCM.
The successful candidate will lead: operational scaling, resource planning through existing and future operating models both internally and externally; roadmap planning & team-wide intake mechanisms; retained agency relationships, QBRs and creative agency roster; oversee localisation team & process; recruitment for the team; ops planning and OPEX budget management, and DEI projects & people-focused projects related to training, development and diversity across the EU XCM org.
We are looking for someone who is strategically-minded, highly organised, a confident communicator, and with excellent project & people management skills. This role would suit someone comfortable working in a fast-moving, dynamic environment, navigating high levels of ambiguity and conflicting priorities. Strong candidates must have the ability to work autonomously, take ownership, have excellent written and verbal communications skills and the ability to influence others. This is a wide-spanning role with senior stakeholder interaction, and candidates should have the experience and motivation to manage many moving parts simultaneously.
Key job responsibilities
• Work closely with other leaders in the team, and support the Head of Marketing Operations on key marketing ops initiatives, scaling, mechanisms and programmes, and ensure their smooth running through strong coordination and communication, and proactive future improvements.
• Deep-dive existing operational processes, develop strategies for efficiency, and author business papers to sell in key initiatives to broad teams, then change management and adoption of these.
• Manage the creative agency roster, and governance of our retained creative & localisation partner agencies incl. inspection mechanism and budget.
• Lead the EU XCM intake process: strategically assess incoming projects and requests and manage a weekly leadership mechanism in order to prioritise.
• Manage team’s resource planning, active headcount & recruitment, including regularly pulling reports, analysing data, trends, own actions and reporting back to the business.
• Budget management of EU OPEX budget, including forecasting, reporting and spend distribution, plus reporting back to the business.
• Run key DEI programmes with trusted external partners in the development of our team’s capabilities & our diversity credentials.
• Manage specific external marketing partnerships, rights activation and their smooth running throughout the year, including oversight of an apprentice contractor cohort in the team.
• Manage the day-to-day running – both internally and externally – of key DEI initiatives, including mentoring and training schemes.
• Key contact for cross-department relations, including training & learning opportunities we can bring to the EU XCM team.
• Build trustworthy relationships with internal cross-function colleagues, broader Amazon stakeholders, agency partners, and external orgs.
• Be a key point of contact for new, ambiguous, or otherwise-unrealised opportunities & challenges for the team to lead these and/or manage resourcing to own/deliver
