To provide key research and insight and to develop opportunities to generate additional revenue and increase profitability across commercial activities of the Group, including the provision of research analysis and recommendations to develop propositions both for new event opportunities and to defend existing business from competitors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
Identify additional revenue generating opportunities with our existing portfolio and with sources outside our existing client base, and analyse commercial opportunities with the new business and account management Sales teams
Understand and respond to changing customer needs using a combination of commercial and creative skills and based upon a clear understanding of what’s happening in the marketplace.
Develop specific sector-based approaches and defensive strategies for existing events that are at risk
Awareness of market developments / trends and the identification of the ‘next big things’
Responsibility for creating new propositions for products and services that will grow revenue, develop the venue brands and evolve the customer experience for the Group, across multiple markets and audiences.
Perform customer profiling across different segments and present and explain the data collected to key stakeholders in a straightforward and non-technical manner to ensure complete understanding
Use customer feedback, event analytics and historic data to evaluate opportunities to diversify the business and then deliver and promote these through appropriate marketing activity.
Work closely with our Leadership, Marketing and Sales teams, and where appropriate external partners, to develop and deliver new initiatives
Define success criteria and measurement framework for activity delivered in this role to monitor results and demonstrate return on investment.
Contribute to scoping and planning a comprehensive programme of activity to grow the business and reputation of the Group, working closely with the wider marketing team to deliver against its strategic objectives.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Degree level education ideally in a business management or marketing subject
Experience of working with and managing third party suppliers
Capability for analysis, interpretation and presentation of data, with strong attention to detail
Ability to stimulate creativity and challenge and improve existing processes
Strong communication skills with the ability to work with Director-level personnel
Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills
Ability to prioritise multiple demands and ensure that delivery is focused on activities that add maximum value
A proven track record of consistently delivering successful research/insight, marketing and/or product development projects
Excellent commercial awareness, written and verbal communications and analytical skills
Self-starter; flexible, responsive, determined
Ability to network effectively both internally and externally to develop key stakeholder relationships.
