Senior Mechanical Engineer Role

As the Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be part of a closeknit and innovative team. You will be expected to be fully proficient in AutoCAD/Inventor demonstrating expertise across all stages, from concept to technical implementation. Additionally, we are looking for an individual experienced in working with hydraulically or mechanically powered structures. Senior Mechanical Engineer Requirements

• Extensive Autodesk Inventor skills (in particular sheet metal)
• Demonstrate excellent proficiency in AutoCAD, showcasing the ability to produce detailed and accurate 2D and 3D drawings
• Strong and confident communicator able to run their own projects and liaise directly with architects/main contractors and suppliers etc.
• Ability to clearly demonstrate creative and problem-solving design skills
• Excellent understanding of bolted steel structures and their principal design
• Solid understanding of concrete structures/steelwork and reinforcement
• Willingness to travel to site and attend/conduct meetings (within UK and maybe outside UK)
• Proficiency in using surveying tools and techniques to gather essential data for design and implementation
• Strong understanding of both stainless-steel fabricating and machining practices and associated limitations
• Able to work to deadlines (which at times means quickly) and to a high standard
• Ability to multitask. Must be able to cope with temporarily side stepping onto a different task(s) or project
• incorporating and promoting health and safety practices in all design aspects
• keen awareness of project costs and an ability to balance design creativity with economic considerations
• creating comprehensive and precise lists of components, contributing to the efficiency of the manufacturing and assembly processes

Senior Mechanical Engineer Desirable

• Demonstrate adept hand sketching skills to quickly and effectively convey conceptual ideas, providing a nuanced and expressive representation of design concepts
• Showcase high proficiency in 3D Studio Max, creating realistic renders that enhance presentations and sales
• Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of laser cutting and folding processes for sheet metal fabrication
• Possess a foundational understanding of general building practices, providing valuable insights into construction methodologies, industry standards, and regulations
• Demonstrate a perceptive understanding of sensing and control systems, strategically integrating these elements into designs for enhanced functionality and user experience
• Exhibit a remarkable ability to visualize optimal site setups, considering both functional and aesthetic dimensions
