Our mission: to enable businesses to grow and reimagine themselves by becoming advocates and champions for their Customers. With deep heritage and expertise in retail – one of the world's most competitive markets, with a deluge of multi-dimensional data – dunnhumby today enables businesses all over the world, across industries, to be Customer First.

dunnhumby employs nearly 2,500 experts in offices throughout Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas working for transformative, iconic brands such as Tesco, Coca-Cola, Meijer, Procter & Gamble and Metro.

We're looking for a talented Senior Media Strategist Leadto be part of the buoyant world of commerce and retail media. You will help shape the future of how CPGs marketing teams, agencies, and Tesco Media & Insight Platform collaborate across the total commerce strategy and plan. Your relentless curiosity and vision will influence how brands and brand leaders integrate Tesco Media more effectively into their marketing strategy. You'll be excited about the potential of measuring how media at different stages of the funnel impacts in-store, online and offsite Tesco Clubcard audiences.

Key accountabilities

  • Established and trusted strategic advisor to senior clients, working at the intersection of brand, performance, shopper and trade media ambitions to help them achieve their objectives. This will expand the remit of retail media's role beyond shopper and eCommerce to the advantage of the wider brand media strategy.
  • Develop customer-centric strategies that grow brands and businesses to the benefit of CPGs (and their partner agencies), Tesco and Tesco Media
  • Oversee the development of annual Joint Business Plans (JBPs), taking ownership of running our Client Maturity Audits with specialist teams to drive the partnership forward
  • Ensure that client challenges and opportunities are clearly diagnosed and strategic choices are made to ensure Tesco Media has a clear and accountable role on our CPGs' wider media plans
  • Design and run our Discover and Decide workshop series to help identify how our services deliver long-term value for client challenges
  • Collaborate with our specialist media planning team throughout the communications planning process to embed strategies that guide our recommendations (objectives, segmentation, targeting, positioning, media selection, investment planning and evaluation).
  • Identify opportunities for specialist dunnhumby teams beyond media solutions (research, customer / category / media insight and data science) that drive tangible client and commercial value
  • Develop original thought leadership that empowers our sales teams to scale strategy across the variety of Tesco clients and raises Tesco Media's profile across the industry.

You will have

  • 5-10 years' experience working in a media planning, sales or marketing organisation.
  • An understanding of Retail Media and eCommerce and commitment to evidence-based work.
  • Thrive in leading internal and external stakeholders on projects, WoW, and best practices.
  • Capacity to both zoom in on the detail but be led by bigger picture principles.
  • The hunger to continue learning, integrating core marketing theory and principles to practical use and open to new models of commerce planning.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity, combining art and science to tell persuasive stories about our client businesses.
  • Ability to work within complex client organisations, maintaining trusted relationships with junior and more senior stakeholders.
  • Self-awareness and confidence to present own work to often unfamiliar audiences.
  • An understanding of how to drive revenue through the development of strategic partnership plans.
