An outstanding job opportunity has arisen for a committed Senior Occupational Therapist in Fulwood, Preston

Salary £36,658 - £41,669 per annum DOE

Specialism

Acquired brain injury and a range of other neurological conditions such as Huntington’s disease, Parkinson’s, and multiple sclerosis.

Purpose

To provide an occupational therapy service by assessing, implementing, and evaluating programmes and goal setting of person-centred care as part of the multi-disciplinary team. To provide leadership, supervision, and education as appropriate for more junior members of the team.

Qualifications required

• Diploma/BSC in Occupational Therapy

• Current and valid Registration with Health & Care Professions Council

• Relevant post graduate training in appropriate speciality

• Evidence of Continued Professional Development

Experience, Skills and Ability

• Experience of working in a relevant setting

• Demonstrable experience of using evidence-based practice and outcome measures

• Skilled knowledge and application of therapy assessments and interventions using complex level clinical reasoning

• An ability to work autonomously and to set own and others’ priorities

• An ability to confidently assess and manage risk in relation to occupational performance

• An ability to organise, coordinate and respond efficiently to complex information

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to build effective working relationships

• Competent IT skills

• Knowledge of relevant legislation and its impact on current practice

• Leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff and help achieve goals
