Band 6 Occupational therapist - ACUTE CARE THERAPY TEAM (ACTT)
37.5 hours per week: HOURS TO BE WORKED between 8am – 8pm, plus weekends on rota basis.
SALARY: BAND 6 – Band 5 may be considered for those candidates who can demonstrate acute care experience post graduate.
Fixed Term for 1 year
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Occupational Therapist to join our friendly Acute Care Therapy Team (ACTT) on a fixed term basis. This proactive team works as part of the Trust’s Acute Care Team. The service covers Emergency Department, Short Stay Unit, Emergency Management Unit and the Short Stay Acute Frailty unit, including frailty SDEC.
You will be supported by working closely with a team of qualified and unqualified Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy colleagues. The team have enhanced skills and you will be expected to achieve dual therapy competencies.
The team are committed to delivering high standards of care across the acute care pathway.
We are seeking applicants with some experience working within the acute setting. You must have up to date knowledge/experience of current developments/drivers within the wider healthcare setting, specifically around frailty and emergency care.
The Trust is committed to supporting and developing staff through appraisals and the supervision process. Band 6 staff have individual supervision and peer support as well as access to training.
The Trust provides clinical placements for students from Sheffield, Derby and Nottingham and the successful applicant will have experience of supervising under-graduate students.
Hours will be worked to support 7 day service delivery between the hours of 08:00 – 20:00, including weekends and bank holidays; therefore flexibility around working patterns will be expected.
