Belonging to the Operations Engineering team and reporting to Lead O&M Electrical Engineer, the Senior Electrical O&M Engineer will be responsible for implementing and deploying the strategy to manage the HV/MV/LV electrical assets in the UK Offshore Renewable business. The individual will be responsible for making sure that a suitable and reliable electrical infrastructure is in place, defining and implementing the necessary projects for the maintenance and renovation of this infrastructure so that it is fit for purpose at any time during the whole Offshore asset life.
The individual will be working as part of a global business and therefore also support with activities in many countries across Europe and the rest of the world. The focus however will be on developing and supporting the UK offshore windfarm sites
What you'll be doing
Manage the maintenance of the transmission assets within the offshore wind farm in time and in budget.
Support the development and fulfilment of electrical safety management philosophy, providing sound technical knowledge, promoting a positive safety culture in accordance with regulatory requirements and to the company's electrical safety rules.
Define the necessities, improvements & maintenance strategy of the HV/MV/LV electrical systems in the UK Offshore Hub, to guarantee the highest assets availability, the compliance with the regulatory requirements and the best service quality following the best industry practices and international standards.
Identify the business technical risks related to the electrical systems condition and propose the necessary actions/plans to mitigate those risks as much as reasonably possible
What you'll bring
Postgraduate experience, preferably Renewables, Marine, O&G or Shipbuilding
Experience in the offshore operations sector
Knowledge of H&S and environmental legislation associated with marine/offshore operations projects
Experience in HVDC transmission system and converter station design is advantageous
Experience in HVAC & HVDC cable installations and testing is advantageous
Experience of using High Voltage Electrical Safety Rules (E.g. NETSO, DNO or offshore specific)
Experience of implementing ATEX directives
Some experience on field device connections and data acquisition
Awareness of international standards on electrical systems design
GWO certificates and valid offshore medical
