Senior Operations & Payments Officer - City Bank

City based Bank is seeking Operations Officer to join their friendly and busy team covering SWIFT payments, clearing, settlements, and various other operational duties. You will be part of a core team of 5 specialists who are in the bank's City office 5 days a week (no hybrid offered)

Core Responsibilities

• Ensuring operational procedures of the Branch are carried out within the discretion granted and with a view of productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction
• Completing all operational payment, settlement and clearing transactions
• Executing all payment, back office, clearing and other payment operations
• Following up personal accounts, time deposits, account management and other charges in timely manner
• Executing payments due in full and on time
• Executing provision procedures
• Executing all batch payment transactions covered by a protocol or otherwise
• Ensuring customer account statements and relevant notices are dully dispatched
• Executing all cash transactions of the Branch
• Making sure the Branch is in compliance with the relevant retail banking legislations
• Monitoring the account activities of customers in the Branch customer pool, and providing information to Relationship Director/Assistant on insufficient account balance, term renewal
• Presenting and clearing of all cheques
• Collecting cheques, presenting them for clearing, and making payments
• When the workload requires providing back-up assistance to the Teller by the instructions of the line manager and Branch Managing Director
• Executing entries for SWIFT payments (MT103 / MT202) and domestic transfers and process or submit them to the Operations Director for approval

Settlements

• Ensuring incoming and outgoing bank to bank payments are managed
• Monitoring/checking payments are in compliance with suitable SSI details
• Ensuring funding positions in Nostro accounts are managed
• Ensuring all batch and other payment transactions are implemented
• Ensuring all back-office settlements and other bank to bank transactions of the Branch are carried out
