HSBC Asset Management (AM), the investment management business of the HSBC Group, serves HSBC’s worldwide customer base of retail and private clients, intermediaries, corporates and institutions invested in both segregated accounts and pooled funds. HSBC Asset Management fulfils its purpose of connecting HSBC’s clients with investment opportunities around the world through an international network of offices in approximately 30 countries, delivering global capabilities with local market insight.
HSBC Alternatives is the investment branch of HSBC Asset Management that invests worldwide in various alternative asset classes such as private market funds, hedge funds, real assets (such as direct real estate and energy transition infrastructure equity), infrastructure and private debts, and venture capital. It manages approximately $64 billion in assets under management and employs around 300 staff spread across 10 offices, including locations in London, New York, Dusseldorf, Hong Kong, and Singapore. The Alternative Investments Operations Team oversees the global investment operations function, which includes portfolio transaction services, core investment support and control to facilitate investment decisions, and product/portfolio controllership for all alternative investment products within HSBC Alternatives. The Alternative Senior Manager – Operations Design and Delivery role is directly responsible for supporting the Operations Director of HSBC Alternatives. This position focuses on designing the operating model for both new and existing investment capabilities managed by the Alternatives Business across different countries and entities, with an initial emphasis on Venture Capital Debt.

In this role you will:
• Design and establish a new operating model for the portfolio/fund structure within the Alternatives investment capability, working closely with Product, Investment functions, and Investment Operations. The role will also involve assisting in adjusting existing operating models to incorporate new services, processes, and controls.
• Create a globally efficient operational framework, including risk and complexity assessments, and thorough documentation following HSBC standards for all operating models as a member of the Design and Delivery Operations team.
• Actively contribute to continuous end-to-end process mapping in collaboration with the functional architecture team.
• Collaborate with global fund services in managing relationships with third-party providers and assessing their product and technology services related to Alternatives capabilities.
• Provide direct support to the Alternatives Operations Director in any strategic initiatives and potential transactions spanning different countries. Also, participate in due diligence processes for new counterparties from an operational standpoint.
