We are seeking an experienced, motivated and focused candidate for a successful and well established payroll bureau based in Watford. The successful candidate will work as a Senior Payroll Administrator undertaking the below responsibilities:
As the Senior Payroll Administrator, you will play a key part in providing an accurate and timely payroll service for approx. 200 employees across multiple business areas, ensuring that deadlines are met for all payroll related activities.
Reporting to the owner of the business, the role will require the post-holder to have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail and have a flexible and adaptable approach to working.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain good working relationships with clients and team members.
- Full range of payroll duties including annual, quarterly, monthly and weekly payrolls.
- Process Real Time Information (RTI) submissions to HMRC in required timeframes.
- Process Statutory payments - Statutory Sick Pay, Statutory Maternity Pay, Paye and National
- Insurance.
- End of Year processing including end of year RTI submission and issue P60's
- Proactively monitor payroll deadlines and addressing any issues.
- Offer support/ guidance to clients in relation to any element of the payroll payment process,
effectively assisting and supporting colleagues within the team.
- Be able to deal with auto enrolment pension, to include Enrolment and Re-enrolment processes.
- Flexible in undertaking duties and responsibilities.
Key skills and knowledge
- Accuracy and prompt response to payroll workload.
- A strong team player who adopts a can do attitude.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organisation skills
- Ability to work on own initiative and within a time to meet deadlines
Key competencies
- 2-3 years experience working in a busy payroll department
- Knowledge of pension scheme administration
- Sage50 payroll experience is desirable
- Previous bureau experience
- Previous experience dealing with multiple clients
- Ability to manually calculate Statutory Payments.
