About the role:

As a Senior Personal Assistant, you’ll provide a high level of support for Northern’s Board Director’s and their direct reports, assisting in achieving optimum levels of performance for all staff within the team. As a Senior PA you’ll organise and coordinate the workload commitments of the team, and also provide full administrative support including but not restricted to, minute taking at meetings, diary management, routine correspondence, and amendment of documents.

Reporting into the Executive Assistant to MD, you will also organise meetings and conferences, ensure all team files and records are maintained in efficient order and raising any purchasing requisitions required. As well as providing support for specific projects as and when required.

If this sounds like your thing, we’d love to hear from you.

Key responsibilities:

This is a varied and highly organised role, but here is a taste of what your day-to-day activities could include:
  • Provide diary management for the nominated Board Directors, including arranging appointments, travel schedules, and appropriate accommodation and meeting facilities.
  • Act as proxy for the communications, managing and responding to emails promptly, liaising with colleagues, as needed, without reference to the Director.
  • Liaise with relevant departments to ensure timely responses to Freedom of Information requests.
  • Compile business reports to the required standard and format, analyse reports, and extract relevant information to disseminated effectively to the Directors. Make copies of correspondence or printed matter as required.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support services, including note-taking, handling routine correspondence and amending documents.
About you:

You will be a well-experienced Personal Assistant, with the ability to perform each principal duty to a high standard and in a professional manner. You’ll be an excellent communicator and work with high level professionalism and integrity to succeed in the role.

  • Excellent minute-taking skills and experience.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under tight time constraints.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Our Benefits:

Because we value our people and reward hard work, we’ve created a benefits package that we think you’ll love. So, you’ll be able to make the most of:
  • Opportunities to progress and grow - including comprehensive training schemes and a range of online learning courses.
  • Agile working for non-train crew - many of our roles can now be based at both home and the office, which is great if you are looking for flexibility.
