Job description
We are seeking an experienced, motivated and dynamic clinical pharmacist with excellent communication and leadership skills to work within our Renal Team. You will be working with our Principal Pharmacist for Renal Medicine, supported by our junior pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
We are passionate about developing our pharmacists. The pharmacy department has strong education links with universities and we actively encourage staff development, supported by our Principal Pharmacist for Education and Training. Many of our pharmacists are working on their Advanced Pharmacist Portfolios or pursuing postgraduate studies.
Our department prides itself in cross-sector working, highlighted by a strong admission avoidance agenda.
The successful candidate will need to have a proven record of delivering effective change.

The post will provide the following services to the Renal Directorate (not exhaustive):
To provide a specialist clinical pharmacy service to wards
To provide pharmacist led transplant clinics ( full training will be provided)
To provide a specialist clinical pharmacy service to dialysis patients
To provide clinical and directorate support to the renal directorate.
Support safe prescribing and medication governance.
Participate in service improvement projects.
To continuously monitor the drug expenditure against budgets for the Renal directorate.
Review and develop treatment guidelines and PGDs.
Participate in the training of pharmacists, doctors, nurses and undergraduate students.
The post holder will be encouraged to use the RPS Advanced Pharmacy Framework to support their development, with guidance from our Principal Pharmacist for Education and Training.
