Salary: AfC Band 7 £51,488 - £57,802 pa including HCA’s
Hours: 37.5 hrs per week
Contract: Permanent
We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Band 7 Physiotherapist to join our Therapies Team and drive forward Royal Trinity’s vision and values to ensure safe and outstanding care for our patients, helping them to make the best of every moment.
Our team of specialist palliative care Therapists (Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Dietetics and Complementary Therapy) provide holistic and expert support to patients with progressive and life-limiting illness and those close to them. We care for anyone over the age of 18 with specialist palliative care needs, across three different settings: the inpatient unit, outpatients and in the community – working across seven London boroughs.
This exciting opportunity focuses on providing a Physiotherapy service delivering high quality, evidence-based interventions to support symptom management, promote independence, work towards patient goals, support patients to manage change and provide specialist support and advice to families and carers. Working collaboratively with all members of the Specialist Palliative Care Team to develop and shape palliative care pathways to deliver excellent patient care and service improvement.

Responsibilities of a Senior Physiotherapist
Provide a patient-centred specialist Physiotherapy (PT) service to palliative care patients admitted to the inpatient unit (IPU), attending Living Well & Out-patient services or in the community.
To work independently and as a part of the inter-disciplinary team (IDT), applying clinical skills in physiotherapy (PT) and includes individual and group orientated approaches.
To work within the Therapies team as an active member of the IDT, liaising and attending IDT meetings and relevant clinical and case planning meetings.
To work closely with other team members and supervise junior members of staff, including the palliative care assistants, therapy assistant, students and volunteers.
Contribute to the evaluation and continued development of the Therapies Service in line with Therapies departmental and Royal Trinity wide objectives/ work plan.
Communicate effectively at every level within the organisation and in the external environment, maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues and peers.
Skills and experience required
Recognised Physiotherapy Degree and up to date HCPC registration
Demonstrable experience in palliative care and experience across a range of clinical areas at B5/ B6/ or B7 level, e.g. oncology, learning disabilities, neurology, orthopaedic, elderly care, respiratory, rehabilitation, community etc.
Impeccable assessment, treatment intervention and goal setting skills
Experience of evidence-based practice and outcome measures
Enthusiasm and a flexible attitude to work
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a wider team
Show a passion for working with and supporting the needs of adults with a life-limiting condition, with a real commitment to delivering the highest level of care at all times
Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Holistic approach to care
Good IT skills
