Job description

Our client is a leading Main Contractor with a proven track record in delivering high-profile construction projects. With a commitment to gorwht and succes in the New Year, they are seeking a highly skilled Senior Planner to join their team in the North West.

Position Overview: As a Senior Planner, you will play a pivotal role in the project management team, contributing to the successful planning and execution of construction projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction planning, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning: Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and timelines to ensure the successful delivery of construction projects.
  2. Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate their impact on project timelines and budgets.
  3. Resource Allocation: Collaborate with project teams to allocate resources effectively, ensuring optimal utilisation and adherence to project timelines.
  4. Progress Monitoring: Regularly monitor project progress, identify deviations from the plan, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  5. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to gather necessary information and ensure alignment of project plans with overall project objectives.
  6. Cost Control: Assist in the development and monitoring of project budgets, providing insights into potential cost-saving measures and ensuring financial targets are met.
  7. Reporting: Generate and present regular reports on project status, highlighting key milestones, challenges, and proposed solutions to senior management.
  8. Schedule Optimization: Identify opportunities to optimise project schedules, considering various factors such as resource availability, weather conditions, and regulatory requirements.
  9. Quality Assurance: Ensure that project plans adhere to quality standards and regulatory requirements, contributing to the overall success of construction projects.
  10. Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and contribute to the continuous improvement of planning processes.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Planner in the construction industry, with a focus on commercial projects.
  • Proficient in project management tools and software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
