Senior Planning Lawyer – South East – £55 umbrella per hour – Remote Working
Venn Group’s legal team are working with a reputable Local Authority in their search for a Senior Planning Lawyer to join the team on a 3 month locum basis.
The ideal candidate for this role will be an experienced Solicitor/ CILEX Lawyer/Barrister with a proven track record of successfully managing planning legal matters within Local Government.
Job Description
Qualifications and Experience:
- Post qualification legal practice experience in the field of planning, including Court and Inquiry procedures
- Experience of advising at committees and member briefings on all aspects of planning law & procedures
- A track record of providing legal advice and support to senior leaders and key decision-makers at the highest levels in the subject area of planning law and practice
- Desirable to have experience and knowledge of the law in one of the following areas- Contracts/Commissioning, Property/Regeneration, Contentious, Corporate Governance.
- Must be a qualified solicitor or barrister or legal executive with a current practising certificate
- Knowledge and understanding of the political nature of local government and democratic process
- Resilient and committed, remaining composed under pressure
