An exciting opportunity for a Career Graded Senior Planning Officer/Principal Planning Officer position within our friendly and busy Development Management Team.
This position offers an ideal career opportunity to continue to gain valuable experience of both urban and rural planning schemes including work within the South Downs National Park.
East Hampshire is a beautiful district, benefiting from the South Downs National Park together with historic market towns, attractive villages and countryside. However, we face the same challenges many do in terms of where to locate new development and how to ensure there is suitable housing for everyone who needs it. Change is ongoing, we don’t want to stop change, we just want to make sure change is as positive as possible, and fair.
Delivering a high-quality planning service starts with securing high-quality people. If you are an enthusiastic and ambitious planner, passionate about delivering well-planned sustainable communities, have the ability to provide sound advice and judgements for a range of audiences, including elected Members of the council, you could be what we’re looking for!
The position will comprise a hybrid style of working, as a mix of both home and office-based working, to suit the work / life balance of the successful applicant. We have an effective mentoring structure in place to ensure that each Planning Officer is sufficiently supported and coached. The Council is currently in the process of moving to new bespoke offices closer to Petersfield town centre and the railway station.

In return for your hard work and contribution, we can offer you range of benefits including generous annual leave, flexi time, free parking, leisure centre discounts, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and more.
