Senior Planning Policy Officer Full Time (37 hours per week) Honiton / Homeworking £41,418 - £48,474 per annum We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Planning Policy Officer who will be tasked specifically with helping to produce a new East Devon local plan. East Devon is a district of contrast with exceptional areas of natural and built heritage, which we aim to protect and enhance, but we also have a growth agenda with significant ongoing development in the district. The contrasting characteristics of East Devon, along with ensuring we get the right development in the right places to meet the needs of our communities, will ensure a varied workload with the scope to lead on and develop areas of specialism and interest. About the role As a Senior Planning Policy Officer, you’ll play a lead role in helping to develop Planning Policy. You’ll undertake research and assessment and prepare policy and technical supporting documents to inform and support local plan policy. This position is based in Honiton however, there will be flexibility with regards to homeworking. About you You should have a planning qualification, be a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute, past experience working in Planning Policy and a real enthusiasm for the job and the role. You’ll also have an analytical and objective approach to evaluating information along with excellent communication skills and attention to detail. A valid driving licence and your own car are desirable (reasonable adjustments may be possible according to the Equality Act).
