Having worked with Windsor & Maidenhead for many years, this the first time we are recruiting for their Children in Care / LAC team. They are looking for permanent Senior Practitioner to join their incredibly stable team. You will be taking on a minimal caseload of varying complexity, whilst supporting ASYEs, and other social workers in the service to learn the ropes within the service.
You will work closely with the team manager, who as been in the service since it began (separating from the pods teams) assisting with day to day management, and working closely to promote best practice and outcomes.
The cases you hold will be with young people up to 18 (there is a transition with the care leavers team where you work jointly from 16 onwards), with the cases picked up by you after court and care plans are agreed.
Windsor and Maidenhead Childrens Services is a part of Achieving for Children – an enterprise who has been chosen for one of the DofE’s ‘Partners in Practice’ who are tasked with the continuous improvement of Children’s social care across the country. As this is a statutory role, you do require a social work qualification & registration to Social Work England.
