A prestigious project, development, and building consultancy is actively searching for a Senior Principal Designer to play a pivotal role in the expansion of their newly established Principal Design division.
This role offers a unique blend of hands-on project delivery and business development, making it an exciting opportunity for those with a passion for both CDM and Building Safety Act / Building Regulations.
With three offices across the North West of England, this consultancy are a leading presence within this region and are keen to keep progressing as an overall business - you will have the option to be based out of their Manchester, Liverpool or Preston offices.
The Senior Principal Designer role
The successful Senior Principal Designer will have a dual focus. On one hand, you will be involved in the direct delivery of projects across a wide array of sectors including industrial, residential, office, retail, public, education, leisure, and healthcare.
On the other hand, you will drive business development efforts, working closely with the sales team to secure new clients and projects, thereby contributing significantly to the growth of the Principal Design division.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive Principal Designer and CDM services across a diverse project portfolio.
- Ensure compliance with the Building Safety Act and Building Regulations across all projects.
- Lead and manage projects with a hands-on approach, ensuring health and safety standards are met.
- Engage in active business development, including pitching, networking, and client meetings, to secure new opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to promote the integration of health and safety principles in design and construction phases.
The Senior Principal Designer
- Demonstrated experience as a Senior Principal Designer, with a strong background in CDM and familiarity with Building Safety Act / Building Regulations.
- Versatile project delivery experience across various sectors such as industrial, residential, office, etc.
- Proven track record in business development, with the ability to cultivate new and existing client relationships.
- Relevant qualifications in health and safety, such as NEBOSH, and professional memberships (e.g., IOSH, APS).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, capable of leading projects and engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
