Our client, a global leader in developing innovative solutions is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join their team on a 12 month contract.
As a Senior Process Engineer, your role will involve designing, commissioning, and optimising pilot plants, bespoke process development equipment, and site utility & infrastructure assets across Teesside and 3rd party sites.
You will work across multiple Business Units, supporting ambitious goals to grow the business and be the partner of choice for their customers.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Execute and lead Process Engineering design activities, adhering to industry standards and procedures, ensuring timely delivery within budget.
- Develop accurate detailed calculations, Process Engineering datasheets, and drawings.
- Lead process hazard assessments and technical risk assessments.
- Collaborate with internal customers, providing quality technical advice to R&D teams.
- Provide Process Engineering support for pilot plants, process development equipment, and site infrastructure.
- Offer Process Engineering and risk management advice to sites and the broader business.
- Contribute technical input to the Emergency Response Team in the event of a Major Incident.
- Provide awareness training and validation for the wider technical community.
Organisational Structure:
- Reporting to Project Managers and collaborating with stakeholders, including R&D Managers, Operators, and other engineering disciplines.
Typically office-hours only with limited travel beyond the Teesside area.
Qualifications/ Knowledge/ Experience:
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience (Essential)
- Chartered Engineer status (Desirable)
- Demonstrable experience in a Process Engineering role (Essential)
- Demonstrable experience of Process Engineering at the pilot scale (Desirable)
- Customer-focused with the ability to respond to customer needs while achieving project and corporate objectives (Essential)
- Demonstrable experience of Process Safety, including active participation in process hazard assessments such as HAZOP, LoPA, Area Classification (Desirable)
- Experience working within multi-discipline teams (Desirable)
