Your new role
In your role, you will become a part of the permanent procurement team. As a Senior Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for managing the Corporate & Professional Services team. This person will be leading a team of procurement professionals overseeing all procurement activities in accordance with the PCR 2015 (Public Contracts Regulations 2015) and in compliance with policies and procedures.
What you'll need to succeed
- Manage the organisation\'s supplier relationships, ensuring that suppliers deliver products and services that meet the organisation\'s requirements and are delivered on time and within budget.
- Monitor, analyse and report on procurement performance, including spending analysis and supplier performance metrics, to identify areas for improvement and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including internal customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies, to ensure compliance with reporting and governance requirements and ensure that business needs are supported.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and regulations, including the Public Contracts Regulations 2015, and provide advice and guidance to colleagues on procurement-related issues.
- Managing a range of high-complexity contracts with suppliers, monitoring performance against KPIs, managing disputes and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
- Develop a business partnering approach with specific areas of the Organisation. Build strong working relationships to understand their future pipeline of procurement activity. Through developing an understanding of the categories or spending and budget, providing advice and support on the most appropriate procurement routes, timings, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Relevant degree in Business Administration, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Relevant professional procurement qualifications, such as FCIPS/MCIPS.
- In-depth knowledge of procurement regulations, policies, and procedures, including the Public Contracts Regulations 2015.
Essential
- Significant experience in a Senior Procurement role within the public sector.
- Deep category experience in Corporate & Professional Services and knowledge of CCS and other public sector buying organisation frameworks.
Skills required.
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills, with the ability to manage complex, high-value contracts.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop a team of procurement professionals.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Analytical, numerate with the ability to solve problems, identify issues, and develop appropriate solutions.
- The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, with a proactive and results-oriented approach.
