A global insurance company is looking for a Senior Procurement Officer to manage the Professional Services category.
They're looking for a candidate with between 2-4 years of experience, ideally within the Professional Services category. If not, generalist corporate indirects will be necessary.
You will be taking ownership of the Professional Services category so being comfortable liaising with senior stakeholders is key.
This business has a modern, flexible working pattern and around 80% of your work can be done from home, with one day a week spent in their Guildford office.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing the Professional Services/Consulting Category Plan; including the review of the supplier base and strategy to ensure that it delivers the best value
- Building excellent stakeholder relationships so that their requirements may be understood and leveraged to deliver the best outcome for the business as a whole
- Negotiating new and existing supplier contracts
- Applying appropriate commercial, risk management and category management skills in order to drive value for money through the identification and delivery of savings; drive performance and mitigate risk
- Aligning sourcing initiatives with the corporate plan, and the Global Sourcing & Procurement global initiatives and wider projects
Skills & Experience
- Prior Professional Services experience with an organisation of a comparable size within the last two years would be preferred, but not essential
- Demonstrable understanding of the commercial environment including the identification of commercial risk
- Stakeholder management skills and a proven track record of building excellent internal business and supplier relationships
- Experience working with Ariba or other strategic sourcing platforms, an advantage
- CIPS certification/educated to degree level is desirable (will support team members working towards their CIPS qualification Level 4)
- Contracting experience, comfortable managing sourcing processes and developing and negotiating agreements in accordance with appropriate governance
- Comfortable working within a demanding, fast-evolving environment with strong prioritisation skills
- Ability to assess and interpret data with solid IT Skills – knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.
