Senior Product Governance Manager
Markerstudy Broking distributes and co-manufactures various personal and commercial insurance products that are the backbone for household names and respected brands. You will be responsible for ensuring that our products are fit for purpose, meet regulatory requirements, and are aligned with customers' needs. You will also be the catalyst that drives the design, development and delivery of new and innovative product improvements.
This is a hybrid opportunity that can be based at either of our offices in Peterborough, Portsmouth, Manchester or Sunderland.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- This new role forms an integral part in the pragmatic and timely implementation of our Product Governance framework and product change management across our retail insurance division.
- You will have detailed knowledge of regulations, retail insurance consumer duty policies and experience implementing governance frameworks.
- You will oversee timely product reviews and fair value assessments, driving key change initiatives, highlighting risks and providing guidance.
- You will be a key stakeholder, ensuring that our portfolio of products continue to deliver good customer outcomes and meet regulatory requirements.
- You are required to build strong relationships across the value chain to ensure that information is shared and obligations are adhered to.
- You'll work to raise awareness of the Product Governance function across the division.
- Driving force behind the efficient implementation of new regulations and policies to ensure compliance.
- Keeping up-to-date with market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes that may impact products.
- Delivery of continuous improvements to our product portfolio, by identifying opportunities to maximise revenue opportunities and improved customer experience.
Skills, Experience and Knowledge Required:
- Demonstrable experience within the financial services industry is essential, desirable if this has been gained within a broking insurance business.
- Circa 5 years of experience in Product Governance, product management, compliance, risk management or other relevant experience.
- Experience with regulatory change management and with strong working knowledge of the FCA's PROD, IDD, Consumer Duty and ICOBS handbooks, together with an understanding of the Product Governance requirements within a large insurance intermediary business.
- Industry knowledge and understanding of competitor products/markets.
- Strong stakeholder management experience, successful candidates must be comfortable providing information to senior stakeholders and able to effectively manage challenge.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Commercially astute, good analytical skills, sound judgement and strong business acumen.
- Experience in a leadership role and developing teams to success.
- A track record of constantly looking for ways to do things better and an excellent understanding of the mechanism necessary to successfully implement change (would be advantageous).
