Our local authority client based in West London are urgently seeking an experienced Senior Porject Manager.

ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Senior Project Manager will manage and be responsible for the successful delivery of the Civic Campus in line with corporate objectives, and government legalisation. They will assume a proactive role, working with the project team to deliver high quality and value for money projects using effective project management techniques, to deliver on council priorities and regeneration and property-related objectives.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- The post holder will report to Civic Campus Project Build Director. They will work closely with permanent, contract, agency and/or project staff as funding and delivery requirements dictate in a Project Management Team. They will work across the Council, with external contractors, service providers; other partners and with local communities to maximise outcomes.
- The Senior Project Manager will manage and be responsible for the successful delivery of significant, large and complex projects to construct and refurbish in line with corporate objectives, and government legalisation. They will assume a proactive role, working with the project team to deliver high quality and value for money projects using effective project management techniques, to deliver on council priorities and regeneration and property-related objectives.
- To provide project management and programme management support services, such as quality assurance, as and when required for other Council delivery projects and programmes.
- To lead on construction related project delivery on the new build Contract B, and town Hall refurbishment project Contract A.
- To manage project delivery team Project Managers and external consultants, as necessary
- To Deputise for the Civic Campus Build Director -as required
ABOUT YOU
Knowledge & Skills:
- A good knowledge and understanding of project and programme issues within the public sector is desirable.
- A broad knowledge of cost planning, cost control and construction technology.
- Knowledge and understanding of the wide range of procurement methods within construction.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant project management tools and processes including Prince 2 methodology.
- Educated to degree level in a construction or project management related field (or five years or more relevant experience).
- Project management related qualification is desirable such as Prince2 Foundation or Association of Project Managers Foundation certification (Practitioner preferred) or demonstrable career development activities
