Senior Project Planner (HV) Reports to: Project Planning Manager Location: Bristol Flexible hybrid working with site visits across the UK as required Contract: Full-time, permanent Salary: Circa £60,000 + benefits The Company: Ethical Power is one of Britain s most innovative and ambitious renewable energy companies. Learning and development opportunities are available at all levels. The Role: We are looking to recruit a Senior Project Planner to join our growing team. Reporting to the Project Planning Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of complex projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the desired quality standards. The key responsibilities of the role are: Developing and implementing project plans and schedules based on employer requirements. Analysing and sequencing project activities to ensure logical scheduling. Achieving contractual milestones and optimising costs. Identifying improvement opportunities in project planning processes. Coordinating with teams for project updates and integrating third-party plans. Preparing regular reports and performing quality checks on plans and schedules. Managing project risks and developing contingency plans. Communicating project progress to stakeholders and senior management. Mentoring junior Project Planners and team members. Assisting in developing project management processes and supporting other departments as needed. Aligning project plans with best practices and business philosophy. Continuously enhancing expertise and technical skills.The Person: The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in project planning and management, with strong analytical and leadership skills. The successful candidate will hold a degree in Engineering or Analytical Science, or equivalent experience. You will have demonstrated experience of planning in High Voltage Grid Connection Projects. You will be proficient in Project Life Cycle and Risk management, with knowledge of Contract management (FIDC & NEC) related to schedule management. The ideal candidate will be skilled in Planning Software (e.g. Smartsheet, MS Project, Primavera P6). Advanced IT skills are required, including Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and Outlook. You will be an excellent communicator with exceptional organisational skills and the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly. Ideally, the role holder will have experience in programme/portfolio management, proven project reporting skills, and a comprehensive knowledge of project development phases.
