Six month contract

Located in Newcastle

£375 – 450 per shift

My Tier 1 client is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a contract basis to support the team with an increase in workload.

Responsibilities:

• The Quantity Surveyor and commercial team properly understand the procurement process and targets in securing the services of Sub-Contractors/Suppliers/Design Consultants, including the requirement to produce formal documentation for accurate representation of the financial and contractual position of work packages.
• Maximum value for money is achieved.
• Raise commercial awareness and embed commercial focus and best practise across each project team
• Assisting in the preparation of contract documents, including bills of quantities, specifications, drawings
• Set and manage budgets ensuring all costs are correctly allocated into the relevant WBS
• Establishment of robust project life cycle cost forecasts updated monthly and monitored against agreed targets
• Proactively drive the recording of all contractual entitlements, ensure timely notification of events and accurate pricing and substantiation of change
• Notify Managing Surveyor, Civils Director and Project Manager of any commercial disagreements with Employer and Sub-Contractors / Suppliers

Requirements:

• Experience in heavy civil projects
• BSc Quantity Surveying or equivalent
• Worked with / for Tie contractors
• Experience with NEC contracts
• Negotiation training
• Presentation skills
