Senior Quantity Surveyor required for a SME contractor in London and the South-East, focusing on Rail / Civils and Buildings projects.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and managing project budgets, ensuring effective cost control.
- Review and analyse project schedules, providing accurate forecasts.
- Compile, review, and submit periodic applications to the client.
- Evaluate and negotiate applications and contracts with suppliers.
- Monitor and oversee variations, valuations, and final accounts for both clients and suppliers.
- Collaborate with project teams to offer cost advice and feasibility assessments.
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor progress and ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.
- Prepare and submit progress reports, financial statements, and other necessary documentation.
- Assess and manage project risks and opportunities.
- Engage with clients and maintain regular communication with commercial counterparts.
Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within the construction industry, spanning 10 years.
- Experience in the Rail sector, particularly in building refurbishments and general civil projects.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Knowledge of construction contracts, regulations, and legal requirements.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft packages, including good report writing skills.
- A self-driven and results-oriented approach with a positive outlook.
