Environment:Overhead Line Electrification and Civil Engineering contractor. Office based for an emerging business supporting projects up to £2m in value nationwide.
Location:Office based in Manchester, working on UK projects.

The client is an emerging electrification engineering and civil construction contractor who works closely with a wide range of prestigious engineering and construction clients across a number of disciplines within the UK rail electrification industry.These disciplines include; Design, Engineering, Construction & Maintenance.
Summary:
Reporting to the Managing Directors, the Senior/ Managing Quantity Surveyor will support multiple electrification/civils projects (mainly £500k- £1m value) with the commercial activities in both the pre and post tender phase.
The role requires accurate and timely commercial reports and accurate insight to the bid management and senior management team whilst monitoring contracts and reporting against the appropriate commercial targets.
Desired Skills and Experience
?Experience managing, supporting Project Quantity Surveyors and other commercial related stakeholders.
?Strong understanding of standard forms of contract such as NEC, FIDIC and JCT
?A minimum of 5 years operating as a Senior/ Managing Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager preferably within rail or other civil construction environment (Civil Infrastructure; Rail, Highways, Marine, Ports, Airfields, Utilities etc)
?Understanding of financial and commercial processes
?Commercial Management and Contract Administration
?Planning & Programming
?Cost planning and pre-contract cost control
?Project/commercial management reporting
?Bills of Quantities, Schedules of Rates and Activity Schedules
?Management of interim and financial accounts
