Job Description

A position is available with the Antibody Discovery Technologies (ADT) team to support antibody discovery within our wider Research and Innovation team. In this role, you will use your scientific and technical skills to develop new antibody discovery platforms to help researchers and scientists worldwide.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Support the antibody platform generation process using techniques involving general Molecular Biology, Mammalian Cell Culture and antibody display selection technologies.
  • Contribute to and implement process improvements of existing discovery platforms with an operational excellence mindset.
  • Working cross-functionally with a global R&I team and also internally with other teams.
  • Contribute to the preparation of project updates.
  • Support Data Management by analysing data and recording within electronic laboratory notebooks promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO9001 operational guidelines, and Health and Safety Procedures.
  • Contribute to housekeeping tasks ensuring the lab is tidy and continually stocked with key reagents and lab consumables.

Qualifications

You will be educated to at least degree-level in a life sciences related subject - experience in antibody discovery for biotech or pharma industries is desirable although not essential.

You have experience in molecular biology, mammalian cell culture and standard binding assays such as ELISA, and experience with display technologies (phage or equivalent),

You will have flexibility in the way that you work; you will be able to work autonomously as well as part of a team and maintain high quality standards throughout your work.

We are looking for a team player who is highly self-motivated and hardworking, has excellent organisational capabilities and can deliver results consistently to a high standard on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

You have excellent communication skills, working accurately to follow both written and verbal instructions, while maintaining detailed records. 

All relevant training will also be provided.
