Working within the Security team and reporting to the Duty Shift Manager, the Senior Security Officer will be responsible for supervising the security team, acting as a deputy to the Duty Shift Manager as required to ensure a safe and secure environment for all staff, visitors, and site users. The Senior Security Officer will work to deliver a high level of security provision for the buildings, assets, and interests of RMG. Key responsibilities include monitoring CCTV systems, liaising with gallery staff via the radio network to prevent crime and disorder, responding to emergency situations in accordance with emergency manuals and response plans, monitoring fire and intruder alarm systems, assisting in emergency and evacuation procedures, and assisting in the investigation of any crime related incident or incident where the interests of the Museum are concerned.
This is a full time, permanent role in Band 7 - Coordinators. Net working hours (i.e. excluding 1 hour per day in rest breaks) will be an average of 38 per week, working a shift pattern of 4 days on 4 days off, of 12 hours duration from 6.15am to 6.15pm and 6.15pm to 6.15am, including Bank Holidays. In certain circumstances you will also be required to work additional hours as necessary for the proper performance of your duties. These hours may be changed with reasonable notice.
