Job description

Red Snapper Recruitment are recruiting for a Senior Services and Development Lead on behalf of a non-profit organisation that gives support to victims of stalking.

The organisation works towards creating a society in which people are safer - and feel safer - from the prevalence of stalking, harassment, aggression and violence, achieved through supporting people, education and campaigning.

We are looking for an ambitious, dynamic senior manager to lead, deliver and develop their operational projects, ensuring that their work has maximum impact and is embedded into the core output of the charity. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong senior operational experience. You will need to be able to think on your feet and work in a fast paced, ever-changing environment.

Location: London, SE11, Regular travel to other sites across the UK will be required

Hours: Part time, 21 hours per week OR Full time, 35 hours per week (Hybrid)

Salary: GBP41,000 to GBP44,000 FTE

Contract: Permanent

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Provide senior management oversight in all areas of service delivery within the portfolio, ensuring services are delivered consistently and to the highest standard in line with current guidance and best practice.
  • Manage multiple projects and budgets within the portfolio of services, ensuring all service responsibilities and project deliverables and reporting requirements are met within approved budget.
  • Support the Director to operationalise and implement plans, supporting team members to regularly evaluate them to ensure successful delivery within budget and agreed timeframes.
  • Identify opportunities for new partnerships, services, and influencing opportunities that will strengthen the Trust s voice and expand its reach.
  • Monitoring and evaluation of all services within the portfolio
  • Proactively develop relationships with other agencies which enable effective collaborations and two-way signposting/referral to ensure beneficiaries get the best advice and support available.
  • Managing requests for information in cases of serious incident/homicide and subject access requests.
  • Act as the operational safeguarding lead for services within the portfolio and work with the Director to ensure the safety of staff and beneficiaries.
  • Support frontline staff and volunteers in dealing with complicated or sensitive enquiries.
  • Work with policy colleagues to, identify any new and emerging trends from beneficiaries.
  • Support in the delivery and Development of stalking training and consultancy packages, including briefings to other services.
  • Support the Director with the development of funding bids.
  • Support the Director to implement new development opportunities and lead on their effective mobilisation.
  • Any other occasional ad hoc activities as required.
  • Manage a team of managers/team leaders.
  • Identify and address skills gaps or development needs of staff, particularly in respect of new product development.
  • Manage relevant project budgets.
  • Work with other senior service Development Leads, managers and team leaders to ensure collective oversight and effective delivery of project deliverables and targets.
  • Ensure services remains GDPR compliant, including managing subject access requests.

Person Specification

  • A successful track record in designing/developing and delivering a range of projects demonstrating strong project management skills
  • Significant experience, offering strategic and operational direction to front line VAWG services or those in challenging circumstances
  • Demonstrable experience in senior managerial role, managing managers. Line management including setting targets and appraising individuals performance
  • Substantive experience implementing new Services and improvements to services
  • Successful track record of representing an organisation to senior external stakeholders as senior representative, including government and the media
  • Providing briefings to senior leaders
  • Experience of delivering training courses and/or presenting material at conferences
  • Successful track record in crisis and change management, maintaining high quality of delivery of new and existing services in changing environments
  • Demonstrable experience of producing reports and reporting back to funders
  • Experience working collegiately and collaboratively both with staff across the department and with other senior leads across department/organisation
  • Experience of managing subject access requests
