Our client is a leading specialist construction company with a 50-year history
They are looking to recruit a Construction Manager to join their construction division - this role would suit Senior Site Managers, Project Managers, Contracts Managers
Business is booming, and the company as a whole have quadrupled in turnover in the last 4 years. The construction arm of the business is growing even faster, meaning there is lots of opportunities to progress
The construction division is thriving both on their new build project side, and within CIF Education schemes (Condition Improvement Funding)
The role - Construction Manager (CIF Education schemes)
Headed up by a supportive and fair Director, you will be joining a team of 3 Contracts Managers working solely on CIF Education schemes (school refurbishments)
The construction division are a lean team, and are involved from conception to completion on projects, working closely with the Estimating team, offering valuable input during the tender process.
You need to be happy to get involved, and will be client facing, as well as going to site and showing the scaffolders what they need to do!
The construction division is a self sufficient department, where you will enjoy concentrating on the important parts of your role, rather than being bound by processes
Duties:
- You will manage the schemes from award to completion. On CIF schemes, when the contracts are awarded, you will typically spend 2 months of the year predominantly office based - repricing and re-scoping works, and finding subcontractors to carry out works.
- Following on from that you will go on to manage the schemes and will typically be out on site 4 days a week - overseeing multiple sites with 1 day a week in the office. A lot of the work is carried out during school holidays.
The right person - Construction Manager
- You will be an experienced Construction Manager, with experience working on CIF projects and will understand the funding and commercials
- You will be happy to be involved in projects in their entirety and must have demonstrable experience working at pre-construction stage
