Summary:
This is a new role responsible for leading the Social Media strategy for a major highways organisation. The ideal candidate will have previously delivered a Social Media strategy in a complex environment, and be data driven to drive insight and decision making. Online platforms include X, Facebook, Instagram / YouTube and TikTok and influencers / stakeholders could be Dept of Transport / the media and more. The Social Media Manager must be able to align Social Media strategy with the strategy of the organisation, as well as taking into account all the complex channels and stakeholders involved. With one million followers and 37 channels, this is a challenging but exciting role to deliver compelling content and work with influencers and online communities to engage audiences across a range of digital channels. Key Responsibilities:
- Implement an effective Social Media strategy, working closely in partnership with media relations and creative content, to bring communications to life online.
- Use emerging trends to continuously improve performance, adopting new techniques and targeted channel strategies to tell this organisation story in an engaging and impactful way.
- Use insight and regular evaluation of Social Media activity to drive continuous improvement and encourage innovative approaches to maximise impact and reach.
- Develop strong working relationships with influencers to reach new audiences.
- Work collaboratively across the organisation to identify opportunities and risks to ensure that Social Media activity delivers against business needs.
- Manage 3 direct and 3 indirect reports.
- Manage Internal / stakeholders / Social influencers / Partners and external creative agencies
Key skills and experience required:
- Track record for delivering impactful and creative Social Media strategies
- Experience in using insight and evaluation products and techniques, and wider market
- knowledge, to drive continuous improvement
- Ability to manage external agencies
- Evidence of working in high pressure environments
- Ability to build trusted relationships, including with digital influencers
