Crawley is a lively and friendly team where you will be offered mentorship and supervision from senior nursing colleagues, active management
support and the chance to undertake training courses relevant to your professional practice. You will also have access to regular professional
supervision.
Hours of work are generally between 9am and 5pm from Monday to Friday.
As a Lead Social Worker within our service you will be working as part of a Multi-disciplinary team (MDT) including Social Workers, psychologists, nurses, occupational therapists and medics. You will work with people with severe and enduring mental health problems, providing specialist interventions specific to your knowledge base and experience as a Social Worker and acting in the role of Lead Practitioner for a defined caseload of complex clients.
You will be able to use your specialist knowledge and experience to support staff through consultations and provide supervision to other members of the team.
You will also be working as a member of the Leadership Team and where your expertise, knowledge and ideas will be valued.
To be responsible and provide effective leadership as a part of a leadership team. To provide specialist social work knowledge and guidance for a clinical team providing a high quality service within the resources available within a defined area, and specifically to deliver on the following key areas: Where required, take the role of practice educator for social work students and the role of ASYE assessor and supervisor for newly qualified Social Workers in the team. To be a key link with local authority partners and Acute Services/nurturing and maintain good relationships to ensure the best outcomes for service users. To engage with the social work professional network in SPFT: attending forums and supporting professional supervision and CPD for Social Workers within this setting. To keep up to date with current regional and national social work-related developments and share these with the team as appropriate
