Senior Social Worker - Adults Services

Remedy Recruitment Group are currently seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to work within Wokingham Councils Adults Services.

Job Purpose

We are looking for an experienced and confident Senior Social Worker with a strong background in working in Adult Social Care to join our small project around our high cost packages.

They will

• Have a minimum of 5 years experience in Adult Social Care.
• Have completed complex, strength-based assessments, gathering evidence to support any professional views.
• Have experience in commissioning and reviewing complex packages of care with the ability to break down calculations to understand how funding is allocated.
• Have some knowledge of shared care rotas with other residents in settings such as supported living and be familiar with commissioning tools such as care cubed.
• Have good interpersonal skills, good report writing skills, confidence working with funding calculations and the confidence to challenge where appropriate.
• Have a driving licence and be able to complete visits both in the Wokingham area and also occasionally some out of area.

The work will predominantly be reviewing established and stable packages of care to look for opportunities to make savings by ensuring our commissioned care both reflects what is being provided as well as remains appropriate. This is initially a 6 month placement with the potential for this to be extended as the current successful project has been running for almost 3 years. The worker will not be expected to supervise staff and can manage their own diary. We have a small number of days each month we require workers to come into the office in Wokingham but otherwise this work can be completed remotely if necessary. They will be working alongside another locum who has been working in this role for 3 years so can give support but will also have regular monthly supervision and be offered mandatory training alongside permanent staff. They will be part of a wider Review & Reassessment Team who complete annual reviews and join their team meetings.
