Job Description
The team you’ll be working with: Finance Data Assurance
Wise is growing fast in volume, revenue, gross margin, and customer products. To ensure that Wise's finances are healthy and consistent, the finance data quality should be constantly monitored.
The Finance Data Assurance Engineering Team builds and constantly improves scalable and reliable services that monitor and analyse financial data across Wise in real time.
Together with the rest of the Data Assurance team, you will work on developing and maintaining sophisticated finance controls, building finance data reconciliation tools, and working with data on a large scale.
You will have very interesting challenges with high data volume, fighting performance bottlenecks, implementing fault-tolerant solutions, and deep diving into the finance domain.
What does it take:
A strong product mindset, you prioritise work with the customers in mind and make data-driven decisions
Sense of ownership and great communication skills to drive projects across teams
Ability to work independently while also being a good team player. Your work will frequently involve cross-team collaboration.
Ability to break down complex projects into incremental milestones that deliver customer value
Experience with common design and architectural patterns coupled with a passion for writing clean code that is performant and well tested
Curiosity and drive for continuous learning and improvement
Following and advocating best coding practices, continuous delivery and code reviews
Knowledge and experience with a messaging system, like Kafka
Knowledge of Java and Spring boot is a plus
Experience working with relational and non-relational databases, query optimisation and designing schemas is a plus
