Due to continued success, I have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to join our national market-leading client, with the head office based in the Midlands. In this role, you will be instrumental in the development and maintenance of a proprietary Azure cloud-hosted vending & inventory management platform. This position is suited to a seasoned Software Engineering professional with a passion for technology and innovation.

Role is offered on hybrid basis. Monday and Friday in office, rest of working week can be at home.

Day to Day duties of the role:

• As a Senior Software Engineer, you will lead the planning and development of new features for our inventory management platform.
• Design and develop client-side, touch-screen applications that enhance customer interaction and experience.
• Work in collaboration with backend developers to integrate APIs into client applications.
• Drive continuous improvement and system migrations to modern platforms such as Avalonia/WinUI3.
• Ensure the robust and reliable operation of our software solutions, maintaining our reputation for excellence.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience with WPF/UWP/WinForms client applications is essential for a Senior Software Engineer.
• A strong understanding of C#/.NET Framework/.NET Core is crucial.
• Proficiency with RESTful APIs and UWP/Avalonia/XAML based UI frameworks is expected.
• Expertise in SQL Server/T-SQL/SQL Lite/Entity Framework Core (Code First Migrations) is necessary.
• Knowledge of ASP.NET MVC Core/HTML is important.
• Proficiency in Azure DevOps, Source Control, Git, Pipeline Management, YAML is required.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with Azure cloud services would be a significant advantage.
• Familiarity with Blazor/MAUI/Uno Platform would be beneficial.
• An understanding of Domain Driven Development and Agile/Scrum methodologies would be appreciated.
• At least 5+ years of commercial experience as a developer is desirable.
• Experience with DevExpress components would be a plus.
• Knowledge of containerisation, e.g., Docker, would be advantageous.
