As a Senior Solutions Architect with us, you'll be at the forefront of technical leadership, guiding decision-making processes and conceptualising solutions across the entire lifecycle—from design to deployment. Collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders and workstream leads within our programmes and projects, you'll play a pivotal role in designing and maintaining system architectures while resolving technical issues.
This is a hybrid working opportunity, offering flexibility to be based anywhere in the UK. While remote work is embraced, occasional travel to SSCL sites across the UK may be required.

What you'll be doing:
- Assist in the provision of solution architecture, generation of conceptual, logical and physical architecture documents, short time-frame change impact assessments, feasibility studies & costed IT proposals for a project/program
- Contribute to estimation of activities for the planning and risk assessments.
- Understand, identify, manage and co-ordinate the technical activities amongst the technical workstreams - providing input into what the tech activities are, the order they are done along with identifying dependencies - SPOC for all technical issues and its resolution.
- Identifying and resolving impacts of changes to the technical architecture
- Be a point of reference for the project on all Technical Architecture matters.
- Reporting and escalating as appropriate to the project manager on progress against plan, conflicts, and technical issues resolution
What you’ll bring:
- Previous Solution/Technical Architect experience
- Experience of cloud hosting and implementation in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
- Experience in Network design and implementation
- CI/CD design and deployment experience
- Experience of Firewall and WAF design and implementation
- Experience in Active Directory, Identity Management / Privileged Access Management design and implementation
- Exposure to business critical, high availability design and deployment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to write clear documentation
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to all stakeholders
It would be great if you had:
- Cloud hosting providers include Azure
- Understanding of IAAS, PAAS and SAAS services and integration
- MOD design and deployment
- Terraform and Ansible experience
- OIC technical experience
- API management and design
- Protective and system monitoring experience
- Awareness of Cyber Security requirements for Infrastructure solutions
- SC Clearance
