The property will open in 2024 and they are now hiring an experienced Senior Sous Chef. This is truly a wonderful opportunity to work in a very unique setting.
The Senior Sous Chef at Escapade, will be a pivotal member of our culinary team, assisting the Head Chef in the planning and execution of the kitchen's daily operations. Your role involves supervising kitchen staff, managing food preparation, ensuring quality control, and upholding culinary excellence, all while maintaining the highest standards of safety and sanitation.
Key Responsibilities:
To create and implement a best-in-class and award-winning guest experience.
Kitchen Operations:
Oversee kitchen operations with the Head Chef in planning and executing the daily menu and food preparation.
Support the team and operations in the Head Chef’s absence.
Supervise kitchen staff, assigning tasks, and ensuring efficient workflow.
Lead by example in food preparation and presentation.
Quality Control: Maintain a sharp focus on the quality and taste of dishes, ensuring they meet the established standards. Monitor portion control, food waste, and consistency in all food items.
Staff Supervision: Provide guidance and support to culinary team members, including line cooks and kitchen staff. Conduct training sessions and coaching to enhance skills and knowledge. Assist in scheduling and managing kitchen staff shifts.
Menu Development: Collaborate with the Head Chef in menu development and innovation. Participate in the creation of new dishes and enhancements to existing menu items.
Ordering and Inventory: Assist in ordering and managing inventory levels for kitchen supplies and ingredients.
Monitor food costs and work to control expenses.
Food Safety and Sanitation: Ensure strict adherence to food safety and sanitation regulations.
Oversee the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including equipment maintenance.
Menu Execution: Execute and present menu items with attention to detail, plating, and garnishing.
Step into and lead during peak service hours to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Leadership and Team Development: Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the kitchen team.
Provide leadership and mentorship to junior staff members.
Sustainability: Promote, implant and act with the sustainability initiatives as directed by the company.

Experience in a 4-star or 5-star hotel or any other lifestyle/ distinctive brand is desirable
Strong, yet positive guest service style
Organized and ability to work within the team or on your own.
Strong interpersonal skills.
A good command of the English language. Additional languages are advantageous.
Has an immaculate level of personal grooming and hygiene, exudes style and sophistication.
Competent in using IT systems and software including Microsoft Office.
Full clean UK driving licence.
Salary: Up to £45,000 plus benefits
