About the Role

Join our Consultancy team as a Senior Statistician. You will drive insights from complex projects and collaborate on road transport projects spanning accident analysis, behavioural change, safety, driver training, and more. There will be opportunities for career growth including leading and innovating new products.

The successful applicant will have the flexibility to work from any location within the UK, with the requirement to be present at TRL Headquarters in Wokingham, Berkshire one day per week.

Key Duties / Responsibilities

  • Design, analyse, and present research projects, engaging with non-technical experts, conducting various analyses, supporting team members, and communicating complex ideas effectively.
  • Apply diverse statistical techniques such as experimental design, modelling, hypothesis testing, Bayesian methods, and machine learning.
  • Lead project teams and contribute to tender development.
  • Produce concise, client-focused technical reports and present findings to clients and stakeholders.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities.

Skills & Experience

  • A degree in Statistics, Mathematics or Data Science is essential
  • Substantial experience in statistical roles, preferably in consulting
  • Proven track record of leading research and teams, scrutinising complex data, and applying statistical techniques
  • Proficiency in R and/or Python and experience with big data tools
  • Knowledge of Azure, SQL, and/or Power BI is advantageous
