Location: St. Mary’s Campus, Hybrid Job Summary You will be a core member of Professor Darzi’s Private Office in an exciting and multifaceted role providing advisory expertise, briefing and project management skills to support the strategic alignment of the Institute of Global Health Innovation (IGHI) across a broad range of academic, parliamentary, humanitarian and commercial arenas. As a senior member of the team and experienced leader, you will support the implementation of Professor Darzi’s vision for the Institute, enabling a dynamic culture and an engaged workforce with the following key strategic priorities: Grow and attract exceptional talent and expertise Growing a robust and cutting-edge programme of research and education Further developing an impactful Imperial-wide and international brand Furthermore, you will also support other high impact national and international workstreams led by Professor Darzi, for example, in supporting him in his capacity as Chair of the NHS Accelerated Access Collaborative, parliamentary activities in relation to House of Lords, and in his capacity as both Executive Chair of WISH and as Chair of the Selection Committee for the Aurora Humanitarian Prize. Duties and responsibilities You will use a strong network of relationships and skills and expertise across technology, delivery of healthcare, policy and global health, and be responsible for working to ensure co-ordination and alignment across IGHI and advising the Co-Director regarding the overall inter-relationship between the IGHI Centres within the Institute, and interaction with the wider College, enabling a streamlined and effective approach and supporting the horizontal and vertical flow of strategically relevant information. You will have an outward facing role in building and maintaining partnerships and stakeholder engagement by working with sponsoring bodies and other public and global health bodies in relation to Professor Darzi’s portfolio. As a senior representative, you will be involved in creating and managing collaborative opportunities. You will be expected to undertake multiple streams of work, including enabling the process of new concept creation, undertaking both strategic and operational elements requiring close and effective working relations with staff of all levels across the College, and liaison with national and international partners including worldwide institutions and national governments. Essential requirements We are seeking a motivated individual with experience in a senior operational and strategic management role, and knowledge and understanding of health system in the UK including its key institutions and current policy debates and the wider UK research funding landscape for healthcare. You will have experience dealing with senior stakeholders at a national and international government level, and the ability to build credibility and influence on complex topics. You will also possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to adapt these for given lay and expert audiences and a proven ability to plan and manage workload with a high degree of independence to the highest standard and to tight deadlines.
