Senior Structural Designer – Contractor (Offshore Rotation) for 6 months, based in Great Yarmouth, UK.
The role is outside IR35, and we invite Limited Companies to engage.
The designer will be working primarily offshore on barge campaigns to Southern North Sea and Dutch sector assets, on a variety of brownfield modifications and integrity related repairs.
The role will generally be part of a 2-week offshore rotation, working with another designer back-to-back. Approx 2 days per week may be required for onshore assistance to the offshore engineer.
Scope of Services:
Carry out engineering survey of structural elements identified as requiring replacement or repair;
Provide engineering sketches for reinforcement/replacement/modification of steelwork in accordance with standards;
Input into lift plans;
Report progress to barge supervisor & participate in weekly progress meetings;
Coordinate with material coordinator to order required supply of loose material for offshore fabrication;
Raise site queries to ensure visibility by all team members of scope growth;
Provide support as required for other disciplines, mechanical & piping, rigging, E&I, etc.
Issue signed off sketches/drawings to Shell DCC.
Ensure scopes are executed offshore in accordance with the design drawings.
Provide technical expertise for the structural design of new infrastructure and modifications to existing infrastructure for the energy sector.
Interface with other disciplines, clients and third parties on emerging issues
Compliance with company engineering procedures, industry, international and client codes and standards
Ensure that all work complies with the Contract Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures as appropriate

Brownfield Project Experience desirable
Experience within the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical Industry will be preferable but not essential
Suitable design experience within other engineering industries will be considered where appropriate
