JOB TITLE: Qualified Senior Support Workers needed in Residential Children's Home (Female)

Location: Derby, Chellaston DE73

ACCOUNTABLE TO: Residential Manager

Salary: Up to £33,000 per annum

LIAISES WITH: Registered Manager, Deputy Manager, Care Workers, Educational and multi-disciplinary teams across the organisation and external providers and partnership organisations.

Job Summary

You will be responsible for providing day to day care for our Young People, whether this is supporting them in activities, education or statutory meetings relating to their time in residential care. You will work as part of a dedicated, ensuring that care teams are maintaining their therapeutic approach and providing direct work with the children. You will assist in leading staff to operate within legal parameters as described in the Companies Policies and Procedures, ensuring the homes are kept to a good standard, to include cooking and cleaning and of course safeguarding their welfare at all times. You will support the business, clinical & social development of the service. You will lead shifts and manage a team as well as a care team.

Person Specification:

• Good Standard of written snd spoken English, sufficient to write records and reports
• NVQ Level 3: Caring for Children and Young People
• Exprience of working with young people, aged approximately 12 to 17, who have challenging behaviours
• Experince of Shift leading
• Experience of supervising care syaff
• Completing LAC reports and attending external meetings
• Knowledge of the problems that children and young people can face
• Knowledge of the effects on young people of abuse and oppression
• Knowledge of the importance of treating other people with dignity and respect
