Position Summary:

Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.

Reports to: Manager

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies. Ensures good working order of equipment and instruments. Drag Edit Delete
Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients. Drag Edit Delete
Passes instruments to physician during surgery. Continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery. Drag Edit Delete
Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.

Performs on call services as requested. Drag Edit Delete
Actively participates and ensures room turn overs are efficient and timely. Drag Edit Delete
Assesses surgical schedule in coordination with RN's and management to ensure patient needs are met and all necessary equipment/supplies are available.

Required Skills

Minimum Work Experience
External - 3 years as a Surgical Technician and service line sign off within 1 year
Internal - 1 year as a Surgical technician and service line sign off
