About the role:
Reporting to the Head of Tax, you will be responsible for all aspects of tax reporting and compliance and supported by the Tax Assistants, you will deliver various tax returns in a timely and accurate manner across key taxes including VAT, CIS and Corporation Tax. You will help define and drive efficiencies in reporting and compliance processes by bringing innovative ideas to transform existing processes with a view to continuous improvement. This is an exciting role in a growing in-house tax function with development opportunities.
Key Duties include:
- Analysis and co-ordination of data for tax purposes (mainly VAT, CIS and CT)
- Review and preparation of quarterly UK VAT returns
- Manage quarterly CT61 submissions
- Review of SDLT calculations and returns
- Tax accounting – tax provisions and reconciliation of tax accounts
- Review and oversee preparation of CIS return
- Review and oversee preparation PSA returns
- Project work and technical research as necessary
- Tax process improvement
- Implement/maintain SAO regime
- Support, mentor and review work of the Tax Assistants
About you
- Broad subject matter knowledge with focus on VAT, CIS and CT tax gained from working in a similar tax role (in house or practice)
- Real Estate experience preferred but not essential
- Experience in VAT and Employment Taxes is preferred
- High tolerance for change and to embrace change as an opportunity
- Organised with ability to multi task and prioritise workload
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and pride and commitment to the completion of timely and accurate work
- Proficient excel/word/power point skills
- Strong accounting experience
- Fully qualified tax or accounting professional preferred with substantial relevant experience.
