The SABDEN Multi Academy Trust, based across East Sussex, is an aspirational and supportive Trust, aiming to create a warm, caring, stable, supportive environment in which all staff and pupils feel safe. We are three special schools, a large countywide alternative provision and a vocational free school. We strive to discover success through learning, self-belief and achievement. Pupils are empowered to take responsibility through a personalised curriculum supported by secure systems.
We have a fantastic opportunity for an innovative and inspiring Senior Teacher to lead the St Mary’s Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) Provision at our school.
The successful candidate will have experience of developing effective practice for young people with a range of complex learning needs, including ASC. You will be able to demonstrate a working understanding of how these needs impact learning and behaviour within and beyond the classroom. You may have specialist knowledge and experience of working with young people with autistic spectrum disorder or social or emotional and mental health difficulties, or a combination of both.
As the Senior/lead teacher, you will have a combination of management and teaching responsibilities, with a focus on developing a new provision that aims to achieve positive outcomes for young people. You will contribute to the organisation, management and delivery of the curriculum, ensuring high quality teaching, standards of behaviour and well established school routines. Within this role, you will demonstrate a commitment to understanding and meeting the needs of each individual young person, ensuring the curriculum and support that we offer stimulates, motivates and engages them in learning.
The successful candidate will be joining a Trust and school that continues to be ambitious in its drive to improve outcomes for our pupils. You will join a highly dedicated and professional staff team and be part of a supportive working and learning environment, where your professional development is highly valued.
We strongly encourage you to visit our school and if you would like to see us prior to submitting an application please contact Paul Murphy, Principal to arrange a visit. Alternatively, if you wish to have an informal discussion with Paul Murphy, Principal, this can also be arranged. Please contact us on 01323 69100 opt 3 or by email on office.sm@sabden.org.uk
