Team / division overview
Our organisation is responsible for partnering with our business units to devise and implement our technology strategy. We maintain and support existing platforms and build and integrate new technologies to keep our business efficient and competitive. We have a global team of experts and collaborate with wider technology teams and vendors.
We are interviewing professionals for a Senior Technology Specialist role within the DWS Technology team to support a high profile and critical divestment project.
Role Details:
As a Senior Technology Specialist you will (be):
- Gather, analyse, challenge and streamline business requirements
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors to execute on system change workstreams, such as database build and rollout and internally hosted application deployment
- Support application controls, including set up of processes like Disaster Recovery, Ongoing Support and Cyber Security assessments
- Develop and maintain a project plan to track progress
- Perform regular status reports to management and escalate where needed
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors and users
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
- Previous experience in a business aligned IT department of a financial institution
- Enterprise technology knowledge and experience (e.g. application architecture, infrastructure, data transfer methods (SFTP), application and database technologies.)
- Project management and delivery experience in a large global organisation with exposure to external vendors and service providers
- Good understanding of risk frameworks, control environments and application governance.
- Experience with software development lifecycle (e.g. Agile, Waterfall)
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field
- Working knowledge of one or more of the following: .NET, SQL Server, Oracle, Web technologies, Apple app development and cloud technologies (Azure or Google Cloud), Call centre systems
- End user environment experience (access methods, hardware, end user support)
- Higher education in Finance or a similar field
- Familiarity with Finance and specifically Asset Management industry, retail and wholesale investment platforms
- Ability to interact with stakeholders of all levels, negotiation and influencing skills
- Positive attitude and a team player
- Proactive and ability to work independently
- Delivery focused attitude
