Job description

Senior Temporary Accommodation Officer

Salary – Grade H - £38,223 (level one) - £41,418 (level four) per annum

37 hours per week

Permanent

Worker type: Hybrid

About the role:

The Senior Temporary Accommodation Officer role is pivotal in providing housing related support to residents in homeless family hostels and Temporary Accommodation properties across Nottingham City. As a key member of the team you will be responsible for team management and ensuring that Nottingham City Homes Registered Provider meets its obligations as part of the wider Nottingham City Council strategy to eliminate the use of bed and breakfast accommodation.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Support the Temporary Accommodation Manager in the day-to-day management and supervision of our hostel accommodation, including Highwood House, dispersed properties and other nightly paid Temporary Accommodation
  • You will be responsible for leading, developing and supervising a team of Temporary Accommodation Officers
  • Provide housing related support to homeless families and to sustain future tenancies
  • Helping residents to find permanent move-on accommodation and minimise repeat homelessness
  • We will also look to you to maximise rental collection from all Temporary Accommodation properties

About you:

The ideal candidate will have some experience of supervising a front-line team, as well as knowledge and understanding of working with a complex and challenging client base. Knowledge and experience of resettling and supporting homeless families and related issues is essential to this role, as is a solid understanding of welfare benefits.

The role will involve dealing with customers who can at times be challenging and therefore you will need to have the confidence to deal with both difficult and sensitive issues, such as domestic violence and anti-social behaviour. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and determined individual to join our growing Temporary Accommodation team, helping some of Nottingham’s most vulnerable groups.

Closing date: Monday 29 January 2024 – we may close this early if we receive high volumes of applications

Interview date: To be held from 14 February 2024 at our Highwood House location- Please note this is subject to change
