Senior Test Engineer – Iplayer Off Product Catalogue

Location: Manchester (Hybrid – 1 day in the office is mandatory)

Role Overview

As a Senior Test Engineer, with expertise in the TV/media sector, you will work as part of a Product Catalogue team playing an essential role in testing three services’ metadata used by internal, external and third party teams for off-product discovery.

It’s an exciting time to join the team as we look to move away from our old implementation and also extend our API schemas with fresh new content for consumption by partners. As part of this migration of Catalogue, Schedule and Promotions information you will be testing partner devices and platforms against new versions of the metadata.

We’re looking for a passionate Senior Tester to join our fast-paced cross-discipline agile teams iterating on our key products. It’s important that you can collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team and can coach and mentor junior team members.

The successful individual will have previous experience working in the TV and media industry and testing API services, possess strong JavaScript knowledge, solid leadership skills and be able to thrive in a buzzing and fast moving environment. Experience of TV application or metadata testing would be advantageous.

Experience

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field or similar work based experience.
• Proven experience as a Senior Software Developer ideally with a focus on media-related projects.
• Very good working knowledge of standard software development frameworks, techniques and methodologies.
• Experience with providing coaching and mentoring
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team, contributing to the development of business scenarios.
• Knowledge of software development tools and technologies.
• You are flexible and curious in your approach
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
