About the role

HL is at an exciting time of its evolution as the UK's leading wealth provider, and has committed a significant investment in transforming the digital platforms, operational efficiency and improving the client journeys and product offerings. We therefore have an opportunity for a Senior Product Manager to have a significant impact within our Trading team.

As a Senior Product Manager you will lead a cross-functional team focused on a business-critical journey, product, service or platform to create innovative solutions, continuously improve our service for our clients and deliver value to the business. The Senior Product Manager will have extensive knowledge of their specialist area, including: the client need, regulation, commercials, competition and how to execute across multiple channels.

What you'll be doing

  • Take ownership of a product and a cross-functional team and the client and commercial value it delivers
  • Taking ownership of defining a vision, strategy and roadmap for the product - as well as key performance indicators
  • Ensure trading client journeys meet Product Governance reviews and the requirements of Consumer Duty to deliver good client outcomes
  • Run effective discovery with the team to uncover opportunities to better serve user needs in a way that's commercially viable for the business
  • Analyse client feedback and analytics around your products, building a clear picture of product performance
  • Identify, manage and leverage stakeholders to support the team in delivering their vision, working with them to remove blockers to delivery
  • Work with experts from across HL to prototype solutions and test a well formed hypothesis
  • Set clear outcome focused goals and objectives that are consistently met through iteratively improving ways of working
  • Assist the day-to-day running of smaller projects and those already in development
  • Develop junior team members through contributing to the Product Management Community of Practice and through mentoring

About you

  • Significant experience in relevant roles, specifically within the Trading or Asset Management industry
  • An effective and engaging communicator, accomplished in forging effective relationships at all levels, skilled at influencing, negotiating and managing challenging conversations with ease
  • In-depth knowledge of different asset classes: cash equites, investments trusts, exchange traded products, fixed income, and funds
  • Thorough knowledge of regulatory information related to client trading journeys e.g., key (investor) information documents, best execution and order handling policy, complex product questionnaire etc
  • Experience of working in an Agile environment, discovering, and delivering change at pace using quantitative and qualitative inputs to make informed product decisions.
  • Solution focused mindset - with the ability to use own experience to develop innovative solutions and resolve complex issues

Interview process

This interview process will incorporate 2 stages including competency-based questions and a presentation or task assessment of your technical knowledge and transferable skills.

Working Schedule

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our team, based in Bristol head office, BS1 5HL. This role is permanent, full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We offer a hybrid flexible working pattern to enable you the option of working from home and coming into the office.
